ARK: Survival Ascended v94.7 Adds Two Tames, Ships, Astraeos Depths and Genesis Outposts

ARK: Survival Ascended v94.7 is now available on PC, bringing a broad September 30 update led by the arrival of Cerberax and Gargantar, a substantial Therizinosaurus refresh, new ships, and major additions to Astraeos and Genesis. The patch also expands creature availability across several maps, introduces new server configuration for pack systems, and resolves a long list of gameplay, map, performance and stability issues.

The update has immediate consequences for both PvE builders and combat-oriented tribes. Players gain new mobility, transport, naval and boss-progression options, while server operators receive more control over how creature variants interact in packs and gangs.

Cerberax and Gargantar enter multiple ARKs

Fantastic Tames Season 1 adds the Cerberax, a rideable three-headed hound designed around combining fire, venom and electrical offense. Its potential grows when tribemates ride alongside the primary rider, making it a creature intended for coordinated groups rather than solely individual travel. Cerberax is available on The Center, Scorched Earth, Lost Colony, Ragnarok, Extinction, Valguero, Astraeos and Genesis.

The Gargantar arrives on The Center, Scorched Earth, Lost Colony, Ragnarok, Extinction, Valguero and Astraeos. This enormous dragon can consume creatures and resources, becoming more resilient as it does so. Its stomach also functions as an unusual transport and combat tool: allies can shelter inside, and stored contents can later be expelled as acidic attacks. That combination gives the creature a potentially valuable role in expeditions, siege groups and tribes looking to move players through dangerous areas under protection.

Which pack includes each creature?

Cerberax belongs to Fantastic Tames Season 1, whose announced lineup also includes Burrowbuck and Enigmasaur. Gargantar is a separate addition for ARK: Dragontopia owners. These are different purchases: the release announcement does not place Gargantar in the Fantastic Tames pack. The map spawn lists describe where the creatures appear, not which purchase grants access to tame them.

Cerberax requires three taming challenges

The launch announcement describes a separate requirement for each of Cerberax’s heads. One involves wrestling for control, another involves feeding, and the third involves a hunt. Players must satisfy all three rather than completing only a single head’s challenge. Wildcard’s announcement outlines that structure without supplying exact food quantities, timing windows or a full step-by-step method, so those details should not be assumed from the preview alone.

Several additional creatures join map spawn pools. The new Astraeos-only Boaratos is a large hostile boar with a fire-based theme. Concavenator is added to Scorched Earth, Ragnarok, Extinction and Astraeos, while its X variant is placed on Genesis and its Aberrant counterpart reaches Aberration. The pack hunter can travel beneath desert sand, launch aerial ambushes and create sand clouds that impair prey. Cryolophosaurus spawns are also added to snowy areas on The Island, The Center, Valguero, Ragnarok, Extinction and Astraeos.

Therizinosaurus receives visual, harvesting and combat work

The Therizinosaurus TLC revisits one of ARK’s most established utility creatures. It has a new model, updated animations and locomotion, support for all six color regions, an optional turn-in-place movement setting, and a jump. Its visual state now reflects its harvesting development: investing in Power or Delicate harvesting changes claw appearance, while Power, Balanced and Delicate postures show the relationship between the two specializations.

Leveling those harvesting paths should also be less repetitive. Players can assign a single level, five levels, or every remaining level through the new allocation choices. Power and Delicate attacks can be repeated by holding their respective primary or secondary attack inputs, which should make sustained harvesting more convenient.

For combat, holding the Bite input triggers Cross Swipe, a two-claw strike with heavy damage, a wider hit area and knockback against small and medium creatures. It does not gather resources, separating it from the Therizino’s harvesting attacks. Wild Therizinosaurus now give a warning before becoming hostile; backing away and keeping distance avoids a fight, but approaching too closely or attacking during that display starts combat immediately.

Wildcard credits the Extra Life community vote for choosing this TLC and identifies Giganotosaurus as the next creature in line. The launch announcement does not give that next TLC a release date.

Bigger ships and rougher seas

Owners of Tides of Fortune can now build the Galleon, a large ship built around fortress-scale construction and cannon broadsides. The Shipyard can be changed into Galleon Mode to accommodate it. Ship ramming damage has been retuned across all ship classes based on vessel speed and size, and the ship HUD now includes a rudder-direction display.

Astraeos owners receive the Trireme, along with the ability to craft the Shipyard and ship ammunition types through ownership of that content. New rolling-wave behavior and weather conditions are part of the ocean experience, with the Trireme positioned as a vessel for navigating those more active waters. Astraeos also gains Tidepups and Palaeoctopus in its creature spawners.

The patch closes several ship-related problems and exploits. Among the resolved issues are incorrect Shipyard planning placement, an anchored Sloop ladder problem, a reversed Sloop door handle, failures to dismount after rebinding Use, Palaeoctopus movement problems on ships, and a placement-limit bypass involving Ocean Platforms. Shipyards and Ocean Platforms now count against the same area limit.

Astraeos expands below and above the surface

The Astraeos v0.1.4 release adds two major regions. Abyssanthos is a large deep-sea zone with underwater air pockets suitable for building bases, while Helianthos is a medium island featuring mountains, flower plains, calmer wildlife and scenic areas. A new boss terminal is located on the western side of the map.

Progression expands with the Abyssalus the Void Beneath and Shallocis the Void Above Ascension encounters. Defeating both Krakens grants maximum player levels. Colossus and Kroaratos are added as minibosses, with the Grand Tortugar Saddle joining miniboss loot. Players can also find Astral Souls and Hex Coins as new Apex Drops, and unlock cosmetics including the Agamemnon Helmet, Boaratos Spartan Saddle, Divine Sword, Divine Spear, Divine Shield and Trireme Chair.

Astraeos receives waterfall, physics, post-processing, clutter, taxidermy and mesh corrections, including fixes in the Wyvern Cave and on Wyvern Island. The update additionally addresses arena anti-mesh triggers, an out-of-bounds access point at Pele, access to Aquatic Compartments in caves or underwater bubbles, and low-quality physical-ocean rendering.

Genesis outposts, pack rules and broad fixes

Genesis gains three Ocean Outposts: Brimstone Bay, Chained Megachelon and Market Port. Land Outposts are now spread throughout the Genesis Ocean Biome. Players can locate 20 pirate-camp layouts, defeat their pirate occupants and take their rewards. Some sites can instead appear as friendly Market Camps, where neutral Pirate Merchants sell goods at reduced prices.

Pack and gang mechanics now allow allied creatures to contribute to a creature’s configured group size. Same-tribe creatures take priority over allies when filling those limits. Server administrators can optionally let variants count together by setting AllowVariantDinoPacks=true under ServerSettings in GameUserSettings.ini; it remains disabled by default. With the setting enabled, examples include Raptors grouping with Aberrant Raptors and Megalodons grouping with X-Megalodons.

Other balance adjustments reduce the tracking strength of Umbra’s Plasma Projectile against enemy players and tames. The patch also addresses a wide range of issues, including console keyboard item controls, passenger seats on gestating creatures, Cosmo tether stutter, Genesis Pyromane camera behavior, Rock Drake painting, Rhyniognatha resin armor, Maeguana ocean movement, frame-rate-dependent Wyvern breath damage, Cryohospital recovery and healing problems, Ammo Box auto-refill, Pirate Market creature and override behavior, Bounty Boards on modded maps, and Lost Colony boss lighting.

Further fixes target map holes and unintended construction locations across Genesis, Astraeos and Valguero; Genesis Lunar Biome meteor damage leaking into other biomes; boss-minion spawning in the Final Test; incorrect X-Basilosaurus hatching; blueprint conversion in Dedicated Storage; Cryolophosaurus freezing interactions; Orbital Supply Drop MEK rewards; PvE Hand Cannon knockback; Astrocetus Cosmic Power scaling; underwater oxygen exploits; and multiple client and server crashes. Players affected by companion losses after bed transfers, missing ambient Genesis audio, global voice transmission, or inventory loss during Genesis Gauntlet Missions should also find those cases addressed in v94.7.

With new travel tools, fresh boss targets, expanded ocean activity and a revised Therizino, v94.7 is more than a creature drop. It changes where players can establish bases, how groups can organize naval and creature combat, and what progression routes Astraeos and Genesis explorers can pursue.
