Lost Colony Solwyn Reveal & Ark 2 News
The world of Ark continues to heat up as Lost Colony rolls out another major creature reveal — and this one brings new gear, new biome hints, and even more speculation about what’s still to come. If you’re following Ark news closely (especially with Ark 2 on everyone’s radar), this week delivered plenty to talk about.
A First Look at the Solwyn — The Veilwyn’s Light Evolution
Wildcard has finally unveiled the Solwyn, the second evolution of the Veilwyn line and the direct contrast to last week’s Malwyn reveal. While the Malwyn embodied a demonic, shadowy design, the Solwyn takes an opposite approach — brighter, sleeker, and almost angelic.
Its body is nearly hairless, which has players comparing it to Sphynx cats, and its five-eye arrangement adds to its otherworldly look. According to Wildcard, this creature is described as a swift guardian that navigates frozen terrain with ease, shaping temporary ice pathways and slicing across hazards with precision.
The phrase “from beneath the frozen wastes” strongly hints that the Solwyn may spawn below the snowy surface — and early art showcases a surprisingly vibrant biome with pink skies and mysterious glowing effects. This may be the clearest look yet at what lies underneath Lost Colony’s frozen exterior.
New Tek Weapon and New Cold-Weather Armor
The same reveal image doesn’t just show the Solwyn — it also showcases two brand-new items:
🔹 A Tek Pike
The weapon looks like a long, high-tech spear with an energy tip. Fans suspect it may:
- Fire a projectile
- Deliver an electrical shock
- Use blue element as fuel
- Possibly play a role in taming red-element creatures
If this ends up replacing the standard spear/pike progression, it may be the cold-biome equivalent of a game-changing melee upgrade.
🔹 New Cold-Resistant Armor
There also appears to be a completely redesigned frost armor set, far different from traditional Fur Armor. Whether it’s a full new gear tier or simply a fresh take on existing fur protection is still unclear — but the unique design implies Lost Colony may introduce environment-specific resistances or mechanics.
One More Lost Colony Creature Still Unrevealed
Wildcard originally announced that Lost Colony would include four new creatures — and we’ve now seen:
- Veilwyn
- Ossidon
- Malwyn
- Solwyn
It won’t be a third Veilwyn evolution — the devs have already stated there are only two. So we can expect a completely new species, likely the final addition before launch.
TLC Rankings Shake Up After a Massive Donation
The community-funded TLC rankings took a wild turn this week. The Giga has officially secured the next TLC upgrade slot, locking in behind the Araneo and the Quetzal. That leaves two more slots still open — and competition is heating up fast.
A surprising $4,000 donation rocketed the Megalosaurus ahead of the Therizino, placing it just barely in 5th place. With only a few hundred dollars separating them, next week’s rankings could flip again.
Given that Extra Life donations have already surpassed $190,000, many are wondering whether Wildcard might add a surprise sixth TLC creature if totals cross $200k. Nothing confirmed — but the community energy is definitely there.

What’s Next?
Wildcard is teasing new reveals, the TLC race is getting tighter, and Lost Colony continues to build hype with every creature introduction. Between new biomes, weapons, armor, and at least one more mysterious creature ahead, the final stretch to release is shaping up to be packed.
